Media Bias Dissected

Here is a piece by Todd Manzi that takes you step by step through the process of media distortion and manipulation. The tale took place over the last few days regarding the call for the immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Manzi does a great job of showing the obvious media bias.

I will fully admit that some media is bias against Bush but you have to admit that some media is totally bias against anything on the other side (I'm talking FOX News here). For christ sakes they employ and put on TV one of the biggest racists in North America (I'm talking about Mr O'rielly). There is no non-biased news cast in the U.S. You should watch Reuters or BBC. They actaully look at things carefully.

When Fox News is broadcasting the news they broadcast in a balanced manner. You mention O'Rielly, while I'm not a fan of his, he is a commentator, NOT a news broadcaster. His views are his opinions! He is not stating the news. The general news media writes/says the news as objective journalism, while at the same time giving their opinion mixed in it. The BBC and Reuters are NOT unbiased, even Blair said that about the BBC.

But O'Reilly the Falafel Prince does not comment, or provide a "balanced" opinion on anything.

He simply lies, almost without end.

An "opinion" doesn't have to be "balanced" for you. I'm sure anyone who has an opposing viewpoint of another's opiinion wouldn't consider that person "balanced."

In terms of the lying, maybe yes and maybe no. I don't follow him too much.
